The Vancouver Canadians were embarrassed 10-0 by the Everett AquaSox in Game 2 of the Northwest League Championship Series at Funko Field on Wednesday.

The C’s had a chance to score in the top of the first inning when Cade Doughty doubled to left with two outs and went to third on a wild pitch but Frogs lefty Raúl Alcantara struck out Peyton Williams swinging.
Devereaux Harrison struck out Cole Young to begin the bottom of the first and got a Gabriel Gonzalez 3-6 fielder’s choice that erased a Harry Ford walk. Harrison could not close the door as he committed a balk, walked Hogan Windish and served up a three-run home run to right-center field by Ben Ramirez to make it 3-0.
Garrett Spain singled to right with one in the top of the second and Dasan Brown drew a two-out walk but Alcantara struck out a pair, whiffing Kekai Rios for the third out.
Everett scored again in its second at-bat when Mike Salvatore—wearing number 23—doubled to left, moved to third on a Victor Labrada grounder to first and scored on a Blake Rambusch sacrifice fly.
The C’s got a pair of one-out singles to right and center by Jeff Wehler and Doughty but Williams went down swinging and Gabby Martinez hit in a 6-4 fielder’s choice.
Williams then jammed his glove hand against the fence in foul territory on the first base side on a Gonzalez fly ball. That was the end of the night for Williams as Wehler took over at first base and Nick Goodwin entered the game at second base. The inning got worse from there as Gonzalez singled to center, Windish was hit by a pitch and Ramirez bunted his way aboard on the third base side to load the bases. Josh Hood walked to score Gonzalez and a Doughty fielding error on a Salvatore ground ball to third brought in Windish to put Everett up by six. Cooper Benson was brought into the game to take over for Harrison and he gave up a Labrada grand slam.
Vancouver did not get another baserunner until Martinez singled to third with two outs in the sixth but Alcantara wound up completing six shutout stanzas.
Dasan Brown singled with one out in the seventh but Jarrod Bayless struck out the side. Doughty had a one-out knock to left but that was all Peyton Alford allowed in the eighth and Leon Hunter Jr. worked a 1-2-3 top of the ninth to finish up the game.
C-Notes

Eric Pardinho stranded the bases loaded for Benson to end the fourth and pitched 1-1/3 shutout innings of relief. Conor Larkin, Justin Kelly and Naswell Paulino also had a shutout frame apiece.
The C’s made a couple of defensive changes in the bottom of the eighth inning with Angel Del Rosario replacing Gabby Martinez in left field and Glenn Santiago subbing in for Jeff Wehler at first.
Vancouver was 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.
