“You spend a good piece of your life gripping a baseball and in the end it turns out that it was the other way around all the time.” – Jim Bouton, Ball Four

Welcome to C’s Plus Baseball! My name is Niall O’Donohoe and I am an avid follower of baseball. My blogging beginnings started in 2007 with Batter’s Box where I provide minor league recaps  about the Blue Jays minor league system under the alias #2JBrumfield.

Having moved to Vancouver from Ontario before the 2012 Northwest League season, I became the YVR correspondent for Batter’s Box by providing photo threads and observations of the C’s during the games I attended at Nat Bailey Stadium. It was a good time to arrive on the scene in Van City as the Canadians were in the midst of a three-peat of Northwest League titles from 2011-2013. Getting to experience the C-peat turning into a three-peat with the C’s rallying to win Games 2 and 3 of the 2013 NWL championship against Boise at the Nat is something I’ll never forget.

Vancouver Canadians broadcaster Rob Fai graciously granted me media privileges in 2014 where I continued to write about the team under the Batter’s Box banner. It was in 2016 I decided to branch out on my own with a blog called NiallOnBaseball. I kept it mostly under wraps as it received just a passing mention on Batter’s Box. It was only in 2017 that I made the blog public under the new name of C’s Plus Baseball.

C’s Plus Baseball follows the Vancouver Canadians from behind the lens and in the stands at Nat Bailey Stadium. The purpose of this blog is to deliver what I hope is plus coverage of the C’s through photos, observations and interviews of the players striving to make it to the major leagues.
