The Vancouver Canadians scored a decisive 13-3 triumph at Funko Field on Wednesday.

Everett scored first against Vancouver starter Pat Gallagher in the bottom of the first. Josh Hood reached on an infield single to second and after stealing second, trotted home on an R.J. Schreck home run to right-center field to put the Frogs ahead 2-0.
The Canadians stormed back against the reigning Northwest League Pitcher of the Week Ryan Hawks in the top of the second. Leadoff walks by Peyton Williams and Jackson Hornung and a one-out single to right by Glenn Santiago loaded the bases. Jamari Baylor‘s infield single to first scored Williams with the C’s first run. An Estiven Machado 3-4-1 groundout that deflected off Hunter Fitz-Gerald‘s glove at first before going to Hood at second would get Hornung home to tie the game at 2-2. Two extra-base hits would expand the Vancouver lead to four as Dasan Brown doubled off the left field wall to drive in Santiago and Baylor to put the C’s ahead. Jace Bohrofen then cranked a two-run home run to center to ground Hawks for the rest of the night.
Jimmy Kingsbury held the C’s down through innings two, three and four but the same could not be said for Joseph Hernández in the fifth. Brown reached on a throwing error by Brock Rodden at third, moved to second on a wild pitch and to third on a passed ball. Williams then extended the inning with a two-out walk and Hornung singled to right to cash in Brown. Williams went to third on the play and he would slide home safely when Hernández uncorked another wild pitch and could not cover the plate in time.
Monty’s Mounties would resume scoring in the eighth by bringing 10 men up to the plate. Jeff Wehler led off with a base hit to right and made it to third on a Santiago infield knock to third combined with another Rodden throwing error. A Machado infield single to short filled the bags and Tomczak balked to send Wehler home with run number 10 for Vancouver. Brown doubled to left to plate Baylor and Machado before a one-out single by Nick Goodwin singled to left to bring in Brown. All the damage was done against Frogs reliever Anthony Tomczak.
Everett closed out the scoring against Alex Amalfi in the ninth. Schreck started the inning with a single to right, went to second base on a wild pitch and scampered home on a two-out Fitz-Gerald double to right.
C-Notes

Gallagher earned his first Northwest League victory by shutting down Everett over the last four innings. He only allowed a Hood leadoff double in the fourth as he retired 13 of the last 14 hitters he faced. The former UConn Husky piled up the strikeouts as he caught Rodden looking to begin the bottom of the first. He fanned Andrew Miller and Victor Labrada to bookend a perfect third inning and struck out Schreck in the fourth. Gallagher finished with a flourish by striking out the side by getting Fitz-Gerald look and Axel Sánchez and Miller swinging.
Chay Yeager contributed two scoreless frames that featured a strikeout of Labrada in the sixth. He worked around a Hood two-out walk in the sixth and a leadoff single to center by Jared Sundstrom and a stolen base in the seventh.
Josh Mollerus walked Hood with two outs in the eighth but ended the frame by getting Labrada looking.
Amalfi struck out the side in the ninth, getting Sundstrom looking and Bill Knight and Sánchez not looking.
Hornung was hobbled in the second inning and remained in the game after fouling a ball off his leg but would later draw a walk and score the tying run.
Brown took a pitch off the left hand by Matt Tabor in the sixth but he also struck around.
Baylor had a three-hit night and stole his first Northwest League base. He was replaced by José Ferrer as the designated hitter in the ninth. That was Ferrer’s first plate appearance for the club. jean Arnaez was a defensive replacement for Goodwin at third base in the eighth.
Outfielder Colin Davis was brought in to get the final four outs for Everett.
Lefty Connor O’Halloran makes his first road start in the Northwest League on Thursday. The game is available on CanadiansBaseball.com and MiLB.TV.
Chris McElvain, Ryan Jennings and Rafael Sánchez are lined up to start for Monty’s Mounties Friday through Sunday.
