The Vancouver Canadians fell 5-1 to the Everett AquaSox at Funko Field on Thursday.

The AquaSox got all the runs they needed with their first hit of the game in the bottom of the third. C’s starter Connor O’Halloran hit Colin Davis in the back with a pitch and walked Brock Rodden. Bill Knight would strike out but Josh Hood cleared the left field fence for a three-run home run. Jared Sundstrom followed with a triple off the left-center field wall and he would score on an R.J. Schreck grounder to first on which Jamari Baylor made a nice diving stop down the line.
Baylor would account for Vancouver’s only run with his first Northwest League home run to start the fifth inning against Everett starter Michael Morales.
The Frogs got that run back in the sixth against Rafael Ohashi. Caleb Cali led off with a walk,, stole second base on a Freuddy Batista strikeout and eventually scored on a two-out single to right by Rodden.
C-Notes

The C’s first hit was a two-out single to center by Jackson Hornung in the top of the first and they didn’t get another runner aboard until Hornung’s turn in the order when he worked a one-out walk in the fourth. Morales would strand Hornung by striking out the side.
Dylan Rock followed Baylor’s homer in the fifth with a single to left field. He stole second base with two outs and got to third on a Dasan Brown single that was flared to left but Morales got Jace Bohrofen to ground out to second.
Baylor had his second hit of the game with a leadoff single to center off Stefan Raeth in the seventh but he was thrown out trying to make it a double on an 8-6 putout.
Tyler Cleveland worked the top of the eighth for Everett and walked Brown with one out. Bohrofen hit a deep fly ball that was caught in front of the left field wall for the second out. Hornung drew a two-out walk but Jeff Wehler hit into an unassisted fielder’s choice at third. Jason Ruffcorn put together a perfect ninth for the Frogs.
O’Halloran had trouble finding his rhythm as he plunked Rodden with his first pitch and followed by hitting Knight to begin the bottom of the first, both batters getting hit on the lower leg. Despite a Rodden stolen base and a wild pitch, the C’s lefty got out of that jam by fanning Sundstrom and Schreck.
In the second, Axel Sánchez drew a walk with two outs but was thrown trying to steal second by Jommer Hernándhez for the inning-ending 2-6 putout.
A clean fourth and a one-out walk to Hood in the fifth rounded out O’Halloran’s outing as he fanned Sundstrom and Schreck before turning the ball over in the sixth.
Anders Tolhurst struck out Knight to start the seventh and stranded a pair of two-out infield singles to short by Sundstrom and Schreck. Conor Larkin needed just 11 pitches to complete a 1-2-3 eighth.
The Canadians and AquaSox continue their series on Friday in another 7:05 p.m. first pitch. Chris McElvain will be on the mound for Vancouver. The game is on CanadiansBaseball.com and MiLB.TV.
