The Vancouver Canadians posted a 6-0 victory over the Eugene Emeralds at P.K. Park on Tuesday.

The C’s broke out on top in the third inning against Em’s starter Cesar Perdomo. A Jeff Wehler bunt single to first opened the inning but he was thrown out by Oneil Perez on a 2-4 caught stealing at second. Dasan Brown and Jace Bohrofen followed with back-to-back walks with Brown stealing second in between. Peyton Williams singled to leftfield to drive in Brown and Jackson Hornung then hit a two-out double to center to cash in Bohrofen for a 2-0 Vancouver advantage.

Hornung started a rally in the sixth against Eugene reliever Daniel Blair with a base hit up the middle. Je’Von Ward was hit by a pitch and Jommer Hernández drew a one-out walk to load the bases. Pinch-hitter Jean Arnaez and Brown would get those runners home with singles to center, the latter a two-run knock, to give the Canadians a 5-0 lead. Arnaez took over for Wehler at second base.

Vancouver tacked on one more run in the seventh against Matt Mikulski. Nick Goodwin led off with a walk, Hornung flared a single to center out of the reach of center fielder Jonah Cox and Ward blooped a single to left to pack the pillows. Estiven Machado hit into a 6-4-3 double play to bring home Goodwin.

Kendry Rojas lasted 3-2/3 innings and struck out in his return with the C’s after a three-month absence. Chay Yeager got the win in relief with 2-1/3 shutout innings. Johnathan Lavallee and Kai Peterson finished up shutout frames by striking out the side.

Rojas was able to strand a Quinn McDaniel single and a Bryce Eldridge double to left field with one out in the bottom of the first inning. He bracketed the two hits with strikeouts of Cox and Perez before getting Diego Velasquez to line out to right.

More traffic on the bases for Rojas came in the second on a leadoff walk to Rodolfo Nolasco and a one-out Alexander Suarez single to center field but struck out Cole Foster to eventually escape the inning.

A bases-loaded situation came up for Rojas in the third with two outs when Nolasco and Perez walked with a Velazquez base hit to center in between. Rojas struck out Foster swinging to end the frame after starting it with a punchout of McDaniel. In the fourth, Rojas tallied one more whiff by striking out Suarez before turning the ball over to Yeager with two away.

Yeager struck out Cox to end the fourth and stranded an Eldridge one-out walk and Perez single to center in the fifth. A leadoff walk to Foster and a two-out wild pitch in the sixth was handled by Yeager after fielding a tapper back to the mound from Cox to start an inning-ending 1-3 putout.

Lavallee struck out McDaniel, Eldridge and Velasquez swinging to leave a Perez two-out single to left on first.

Peterson walked Nolasco to start the eighth and plunked Suarez with one out but fanned Foster, caught Justin Wishkoski looking and whiffed Cox to wrap up the eighth.

Munson surrendered an Eldrige one-out knock to left and walked Perez before getting Velasquez to hit into a game-ending 6-3 double play.

Brown opened the game with an infield single to third and Williams had a one-out single to right but both of them were stranded in the first.

Williams had a two-out infield single to second off Cody Tucker in the eighth and Ward singled to left in the ninth.
