The Vancouver Canadians were tripped up by the Eugene Emeralds 6-1 at P.K. Park on Friday.

The first run of the game belonged to Vancouver in the second inning against Joe Whitman. A Robert Brooks one-out double to left field came home on a two-out double to left by Jean Arnaez as Alexander Suarez appeared to have trouble locating the ball in the sunlight and it snuck underneath his glove.
Eugene wiped out that deficit against Juaron Watts-Brown a half-inning later. An infield single to short by Quinn McDaniel and a jam shot to left field by Justin Wishkoski were bunted over by Zach Morgan on a 3-1 play. Garrett Frechette was grazed on the leg with a pitch to load the bases and Alexander Suarez came up with a two-run single to left. Wade Meckler walked to reload the pillows and Jonah Cox produced a sacrifice fly to left field to score Wishkoski for the Emeralds third run.
The Emeralds got a home run to center field from Diego Velasquez to lead off the fifth against Watts-Brown. They would add two more runs against Aaron Munson in the sixth. A Suarez leadoff walk was erased by a Meckler 4-6 fielder’s choice but Meckler, after swiping second, scored on a triple to right by Cox. Rodolfo Nolasco singled to right to bring in Cox for the final score of the game.
