C's Notes

Congratulations to C’s outfielder Jace Bohrofen for winning the Northwest League Player of the Week award for August 19-25. The former Arkansas Razorback batted .429 with a home run, three doubles and eight runs batted in over five games against the Everett AquaSox. Bohrofen also had a 13-game hitting streak. Bohrofen, Peyton Williams and Ryan McCarty have won NWL POY honours this year.

Congratulations to 2018 C’s outfielder Griffin Conine for his call-up to the Miami Marlins, the same franchise his father Jeff Conine, aka Mr. Marlin. My favourite memory of Griffin was his first professional home run against the Tri-City Dust Devils in a Friday Nooner at the Nat June 28, 2018. That was my debut in a certain area of the press box. Former Blue Jays pitcher Nick Allgeyer and infielder Vinny Capra also appeared in that game for the C’s and former San Diegp Padres hurler José Espada was the starter that day.

Congratulations to 2011, 2014 and 2015 C’s skipper John Schneider for winning his 200th game as the manager of the Toronto Blue Jays. The milestone came on August 27 with a 7-3 victory over Boston at Fenway Park.

C's Changes Roster Notes

Infielder Jamari Baylor is back with the Canadians after missing the better part of two months with a hamate injury. He was activated on August 28 after being placed on the injured list on June 30. Baylor is now wearing number 18 after wearing number 15 in his first stint with the club. Utilityman Brennan Orf resumed wearing number 15 after he spent some on the injured list.
