Welcome to the 2025 Year in Review by the Numbers at C’s Plus Baseball, which looks at everyone who wore a number with the Vancouver Canadians this past season.

There were 59 players consisting of 32 pitchers and 27 position players who donned the uniform for Monty’s Mounties, an increase of three from 2024. The pitching total does not include two position players who saw time on the mound. There were also eight coaches, including a midseason change and a cameo appearance from a Gold Glove center fielder.

  • There were nine different countries represented on this year’s roster (United States [36], Canada [4], Dominican Republic [4], Cuba [3], Panama [3], Venezuela [3], Brazil [1], England [1], Puerto Rico [1]). 
  • The American-born players came from 16 different states (California [8], Texas [4], Massachusetts [3], New Jersey [3], Pennsylvania [3], Georgia [2], Missouri [2], Oklahoma [2], Virginia [2], Florida [1], Hawaii [1], Indiana [1], Iowa [1], Louisiana [1], Tennessee [1], Utah [1]).
  • The Canadian-born players came from two provinces (Ontario [3], Quebec [1]). Arjun Nimmala played the most games with 120, one more than Sean Keys. Eddie Micheletti (106) and Carter Cunningham (102) also reached the century mark in games played.
  • JJ Sánchez had a team-leading 35 mound appearances after having the fewest (4) in 2024. Colby Martin, Hayden Gilliland and Peyton Powell were tied for the fewest with one appearance, with the latter two being position players.
  • The youngest position player was 19-year-old Arjun Nimmala and the oldest was 25-year-old Je’Von Ward.
  • The youngest pitcher was 21-year-old Fernando Perez and the oldest was 27-year-old Nate Garkow.
  • Seven countries were represented on the roster (United States [43], Venezuela [6], Canada [4], Dominican Republic [3], Cuba [1], Nicaragua [1], Panama [1])
  • The American-born players came from 19 different states (California [9], Texas [6], Florida [3], New Jersey [3], Alabama [2], Illinois [2], Indiana [2], Massachusetts [2], Missouri [2], New York [2], Pennsylvania [2], Tennessee [2], Delaware [1], Iowa [1], Maryland [1], Nevada [1], North Carolina [1], South Carolina [1].

Notes – Belted first home run of the season for the C’s on Opening Night at Tri-City on April 4…Reached base safely in 16 of 18 games…Batted .412 in the first inning…All seven homers came on the road to help him post a 1.220 OPS away from The Nat…Placed on seven-day injured list on May 16 and missed the rest of the season.

Season Highlight – Homered on the first pitch of the game and homered again with a double in win at Spokane May 7 to earn Northwest League Player of the Week honours for May 5-11.

#1. Juanmi Vasquez, LHP

Notes – Promoted to Vancouver from Dunedin on August 12 after beginning season at Florida Complex League…Made Northwest League debut with two shutout innings and three strikeouts in victory against Spokane on August 16…Three of five appearances were scoreless, including three shutout innings and six strikeouts versus Everett to collect the save on September 6.

Season Highlight – Earned first Northwest League save with 2.1 perfect innings with three strikeouts against Tri-City on August 22.

#2. Victor Arias, OF

Notes – Made season debut at Tri-City on April 4…First Northwest League home run a game-winning two-run shot in the eighth inning against Eugene on April 18…Had four hits and scored three runs in win versus Hillsboro on April 29…Placed on seven-day injured list on May 10 and was activated on May 20…Doubled twice, singled and walked in win against Spokane on June 11…Homered, singled twice, walked, drove in two runs and stole a base in victory at Eugene on June 17…Batted .310 in April and .316 in June…Promoted to Double-A New Hampshire on July 18…Finished second on the C’s with 12 stolen bases in 16 tries…Named C’s MVP.

Season Highlight – Won Northwest League Player of the Week for April 14-20 after going 8-for-20 with two doubles, a home run, seven runs scored, four RBI, five walks and two stolen bases in five games against Eugene.

#2. Jacob Lojewski, 3B/C

Notes – Promoted from Low-A Dunedin to Vancouver on July 29…First Northwest League hit was double at Tri-City on August 2…Singled and scored a run against Hillsboro on August 10…Released by the Toronto Blue Jays on August 15…Made one start at third base and one start at catcher.

Season Highlight – Singled, scored a run and threw out two basestealers in win at Spokane on August 14.

#2. Tucker Toman, 3B

Notes – Promoted from Low-A Dunedin on August 15…Hit by pitch in first AB with the C’s and added RBI single in win at Spokane on August 16…Doubled, singled and had bases-loaded walk in victory at Spokane on August 17…RBI single, sacrifice fly and hit by pitch in triumph at Spokane on August 19…Went 2-for-4 with game-tying RBI single and scored winning run in 8th inning against Tri-City on August 20…Singled to extend hit streak to five games against Tri-City on August 21…Doubled home two runs and drew two walks in win at Hillsboro on August 28…Went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in victory against Everett on September 4…Made 10 starts at third base.

Season Highlight – Went 3-for-3 with walk in win against Everett on September 6.

#3. JJ Sánchez, LHP

Notes – Stranded two runners and struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings in victory at Tri-City on April 6…Tossed 2.1 scoreless IP and struck out two against Eugene on April 18…Had six straight scoreless appearances from May 13-June 4…Earned save after two innings of one-run ball and struck out three against Spokane on June 15…Notched third save of the season with a shutout inning and one strikeout at Hillsboro on August 30…Finished season with seven straight scoreless outings from August 12-September 7…Led C’s with 35 appearances…Released by the Toronto Blue Jays on January 12, 2026.

Season Highlight – Picked up save in Game 1 of doubleheader against Tri-City on June 28 with two shutout innings and one strikeout.

#4. Irv Carter, RHP

Notes – Pitched 2.1 innings of one-run ball with three strikeouts and stranded a runner to earn victory at Spokane on April 12…Transferred to Development List on May 6 and activated on May 20…Got the win with three shutout stanzas and struck out three against Hillsboro on May 30…Earned hold with three scoreless frames and four strikeouts against Tri-City on June 27…Won consecutive appearances at Everett (2IP 0R 3K) at Everett on July 6 and at Hillsboro (3IP, 0R 1K) on July 10…Had 2.25 ERA in road games…Finished in four-way tie in team lead for victories with six.

Season Highlight – Picked up first Northwest League save with four innings of one-run ball while whiffing four batters versus Hillsboro on August 7.

#5. Aaron Munson, RHP

Notes – Struck out two over two shutout stanzas to finish victory at Spokane on April 12…Earned hold with two shutout innings in victory against Everett on May 13…Stranded a runner and tossed 2.1IP of shutout ball with four strikeouts to get the win at Tri-City on June 7…Credited with hold after three shutout stanzas in victory against Everett on July 3…Did not give up a run in three July appearances covering 5.2IP before going on the seven-day injured list on July 22…Picked up win with two shutout innings versus Hillsboro on August 9…Only gave up one run in August and September combined covering seven appearances and 10.2 innings to end the year…Limited hitters to a .183 batting average at The Nat.

Season Highlight – Sat down all nine hitters he faced and struck one to collect the win against Spokane on June 13.

#6. Aaron Parker, C

Notes – Reached base safely in all 13 games in April to begin Northwest League career, including a 10-game hitting streak from April 8-26…Batted .265 and slugged .469 in April…Doubled and drew three walks at Hillsboro on May 2…Had three-hit night and drove in four runs, including bases-clearing three-run double, in victory at Eugene on May 25…Recorded three straight two-hit games from June 13-15 to end stretch of five multi-hit efforts over six games…Homered, singled and walked in win at Eugene June 19…Batted. 260 and slugged .455 in June…Spent three separate stints on the seven-day injured list in July and August…Got a base hit in victory against Hillsboro in his last game of the season on August 9…Batted .271 in day games…Made 50 starts behind the plate.

Season Highlight – Singled, walked twice and hit by pitch for a perfect night at the plate in victory against Everett on May 14 in his first game at Nat Bailey Stadium since the clinching Game 4 of the 2023 Northwest League Championship Series against the Aqua Sox.

Season Highlight – Belted first Northwest League home run, a three-run shot, to cap off win at Spokane on August 17.

#9. Kevin Miranda, RHP

Notes – Pitched scoreless inning and earned hold in season debut during victory at Tri-City on April 5…Allowed one run over three innings and struck out four to get the win at Spokane on April 9…Stranded a runner and pitched 2-1/3 shutout innings to pick up the victory at Spokane on April 13…Promoted to Double-A New Hampshire on May 20 and placed on Development List…Activated by New Hampshire on May 31…Released by the Toronto Blue Jays on June 28.

Season Highlight – Gave up two runs (one earned) and struck out three over five innings to earn win against Everett on May 13.

#11. Jonathan Davis, hitting coach

Notes – Helped C’s pitchers record lowest team ERA of 3.67, fewest walks (506), most strikeouts (1,311), strikeout/walk ratio (2.59) and best WHIP (1.287) in the Northwest League…Richland, Washington native pitched for the San Diego Padres in 2019 and the Milwaukee Brewers in 2020 and 2021…Will be back as C’s pitching coach in 2026.

#34. Robelin Bautista, assistant pitching coach

Notes – Helped C’s bullpen record 30 saves and contribute to a league-best 1,166.1 innings pitched with Eugene…Served as pitching coach with the Dominican Summer League Blue Jays in 2023 and 2024…Will serve as assistant pitching coach at Double-A New Hampshire in 2026.

#39. Kevin Kiermaier, outfield instructor-first base coach

Notes – Worked with C’s outfielders and served as first base coach in early August…Fort Wayne, Indiana native wore number 35 at first before reverting to number 39, which he donned for most of his major league career with Tampa Bay and Toronto…Four-time Gold Glove winner ended his career with a 2024 World Series ring.
