The Vancouver Canadians were held off the scoreboard in a 3-0 loss to the Eugene Emeralds in the final Friday Nooner at the Nat.

Kendry Rojas was stellar on the mound for the C”s and faced just one batter over the minimum over six innings. That one hitter, however, took him deep as Allan Cerda homered to left field near the C’s bullpen cart to open the third inning.
The Em’s would add two more in the seventh off Grayson Thurman. A leadoff walk to James Tibbs III and a Sabin Ceballos double to the left field fence put runners at second and third. Thurman nearly escaped when he got Charlie Szykowny to fly out to left field and Quinn McDaniel to ground out to third. Thurman was ahead of Luke Shliger at one ball and two strikes but the Em’s catcher hit a two-out double down the right field line to score Tibbs and Ceballos.
C-Notes

Rojas struck out the side in the second inning with Szykowny, McDaniel and Shliger all going down swinging.
The lefty ended a 1-2-3 fourth by fanning Aeverson Arteaga and began the fifth with called Ks of McDaniel and Cerda.
Aaron Munson overcame a couple of walks to Payton and Arteaga in the eighth inning by getting Scott Bandura hit into a 5-4-3 double play and Tibbs to pop up to short. C’s manager Brent Lavalee paid Munson a visit to the mound but elected not to go to the bullpen.
In the ninth, Kai Peterson navigated his way around a one-out Szykowny infield single to second and a two-out Shliger walk by striking out Cerda.
The C’s first baserunner was Jacob Sharp as he reached base on a fielding error by Ceballos at third with two outs in the third inning. Eugene starter Cesar Perdomo would go on to strike out the side.
Vancouver would load the bases in the third inning without a hit when Marcos De La Rosa walked with one out and stole second. Adrian Pinto got aboard on a fielding error by Tibbs in right and Brennan Orf drew a base on balls but Perdomo fanned Jackson Hornung and Nick Goodwin to keep Vancouver from scoring.
Sharp gave one a ride to the warning track in left field in the fourth inning but Cerda made the catch at the warning track.
Trent Harris relieved Perdomo in the sixth and the Canadians finally got their first hit of the day when Hornung reached on an infield single to second base. Harris then got Goodwin to hit into a 6-4-3 inning-ending double play.
Vancouver filled the bags one more time in the seventh inning. Sharp doubled to center with one out, Bryce Arnold singled to right with two outs and De La Rosa drew a walk but Harris would strike out Pinto to end the threat.
Hunter Dula worked a three-up, three-down eighth inning and was back on the bump for the Emeralds in the ninth. Nic Deschamps—who replaced Sharp behind the plate in the eighth inning—singled to right field with one out and pinch-hitter Je’Von Ward—taking over for Alex Stone—bounced a single through the infield to right but Arnold would hit into a 6-4-3 game-ending twin-killing.
The C’s and Em’s go at it again at 7:05 pm on Saturday. Grant Rogers is scheduled to throw the first pitch for Vancouver. Rob Fai will have the call on CanadiansBaseball.com and MiLB.TV.
