It’s the second-ever Championship Edition of the Year in Review by the Numbers at C’s Plus Baseball.

The first one came in the 2017 season which marked the first official year of his blog when the Vancouver Canadians knocked off the Eugene Emeralds in four games, winning the clincher at Nat Bailey Stadium. Six years later, Monty’s Mounties knocked off another E-team in the Everett AquaSox, celebrating the Game 4 clincher at The Nat on September 16.
A total of 55 players wore the Canadians uniform in 2023 with 26 position players and 29 pitchers and the latter total does not include a position player pressed into service on the mound. That’s an 11-player decrease from the 66 players who suited up for the C’s in 2022.
- Gabriel Martinez played in 109 games, the most of any player on the roster. Juan Gonzalez appeared in just one.
- Cooper Benson took to the mound the most with 40 appearances, Al Pesto had the fewest with two.
- The youngest pitcher was 20-year-old Dahian Santos and the oldest was 27-year-old Juan Nuñez.
- The youngest position player was 20-year-old Angel Del Rosario and the oldest was 28-year-old Karl Ellison.
- There were 11 different countries represented on this year’s roster (United States [33], Dominican Republic [8], Venezuela [4], Cuba [2}, Panama [2}, Brazil [1], Canada [1], Mexico [1], Puerto Rico [1], Slovakia [1}, Taiwan [1]).
- The American-born players came from 18 different states (California [5], Pennsylvania [5], Virginia [3], Illinois [2], Indiana [2], Louisiana [2], Ohio [2], Texas [2], Alabama [1], Delaware [1], Georgia [1], Hawaii [1], Iowa [1], Kentucky [1], Massachusetts [1], Missouri [1], Tennessee [1], Texas [1]).
- The lone Canadian-born player hailed from the province of Ontario.
Names in bold indicate the last player to wear the number at the end of the year. Unbolded names for numbers with just one player indicate the number was not active by season’s end.
