January 9 – 2019 righthander Alek Manoah avoids arbitration with the Toronto Blue Jays by agreeing to a $2.2 million salary for 2025.

Riley Adams
January 9 – 2017 catcher Riley Adams and the Washington National also avoids arbitration with a $850,000 deal.

January 15 – 2016 righthander Zach Jackson announces his retirement on Instagram after spending the 2022 and 2023 campaigns with the Oakland A’s. He pitched at Triple-A Las Vegas last season.
January 22 – 2011 second baseman Jon Berti signs a one-year deal with the Chicago Cubs.
January 22 – 2022 infielder Francisco Fajardo signs a deal to play for London Majors of the Intercounty Baseball League.
January 23 – 2017-2019 and 2022-2023 righthander Juan Nuñez signs a minor league contract with the San Diego Padres.
January 24 – 2023-2024 righthander Eric Pardinho is named to Brazil’s roster for the 2025 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers.
January 24 – 2022-2023 righty Abdiel Mendoza signs a minor league agreement with the Milwaukee Brewers.
January 27 – 2014-2015 lefthander Ryan Borucki signs a minor league deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Adam Kloffenstein
January 28 – 2019, 2021 and 2022 righthander Adam Kloffenstein returns to the Toronto Blue Jays organization on a minor-league deal. He made his MLB debut for the St. Louis Cardinals at Birmingham’s Rickwood Field for the St. Louis Cardinals and pitched a scoreless inning against the San Francisco Giants.
January 28 – 2019 and 2021 infielder Luis De Los Santos and 2022 outfielder Steward Berroa help the Escogido Leones win the Dominican Professional Baseball Championship.
February
February 3 – 2014 lefthander Tim Mayza signs a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
February 3 – The Winnipeg Goldeyes re-sign 2014-2015 catcher Kevin Garcia who played previously for the club in 2018, 2019 and 2024.

Reggie Pruitt Jr.
February 5 – 2017 center fielder Reggie Pruitt Jr. signs with the Chicago Dogs of the American Association. Pruitt scored the winning run in the clinching Game 4 of the 2017 Northwest League Championship Series against the Eugene Emeralds.
February 7 – 2021 lefthander Brandon Eisert is claimed off waivers by the Chicago White Sox from Tampa Bay. The Rays acquired the former Oregon State Beaver from the Blue Jays in exchange for cash on January 23.
February 11 – 2019 and 2021 infielder Spencer Horwitz is sidelined with a right wrist injury. He was traded to the Cleveland Guardians before being flipped to the Pittsburgh Pirates.
February 12 – 2023 catcher Lyle Lin signs a minor league deal with the Sacramento Athletics. Lin will always be remembered for sparking a rally with a two-out single that led to a Garrett Spain grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning against Everett in June, a win that helped the club clinch a 2023 first-half playoff berth.
February 13 – North Delta, BC native Brent Lavallee is named the manager of the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats after leading the C’s from 2022-2024. José Mayorga is named the new skipper for Vancouver.
February 14 – The Vancouver Canadians announce their preliminary promotions schedule for 2025. The highlights include Lumberjack, Vancouver Asahi and a South Asian heritage jerseys and three bobblehead giveaways, later revealed as Dasan Brown, Davis Schneider and Steward Berroa.
February 21 – 2017 second baseman Samad Taylor hits the first homer of the spring for the Seattle Mariners for the second year in a row.
February 21 – 2022-2024 lefthander Naswell Paulino signs with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks of the independent American Association. The Dominican lefty was credited with 14 wins for the C’s.
March
March 7 – 2023 shortstop Josh Kasevich is sidelined with a stress fracture in his lower back during Spring Training action against Atlanta.
March 22 – 2015 lefty Danny Young makes the New York Mets Opening Day roster.
March 25 – 2016 second baseman Cavan Biggio makes the Kansas City Royals Opening Day roster.
March 25 – 2014 designated hitter Rowdy Tellez is named to the Seattle Mariners Opening Day roster.
March 25 – 2023 outfielder Alan Roden makes the Toronto Blue Jays Opening Day roster.
March 26 – The Toronto Blue Jays release 2022-2023 catcher Andrés Sosa, 2023 lefthander Ian Churchill and 2023-2024 utility player Marcos de la Rosa. Sosa had on-base percentages of .397 and .391 during his two seasons with Vancouver. Churchill had a 0.44 ERA in 20 regular season innings and added five more goose eggs in the postseason. He earned the win in Game 3 of the Northwest League Championship against the Everett AquaSox. Also on the 2023 championship roster with Churchill was de la Rosa who may have set the record for most pinch-running appearances in franchise history with 26 last season.
March 26 – The Texas Rangers name 2011 outfielder Kevin Pillar to its Opening Day roster after signing a minor league deal on February 23.
March 27 – 2012-2013 manager Clayton McCullough wins his managerial debut with the Miami Marlins who walk off the Pittsburgh Pirates.
March 27 – 2023 outfielder Alan Roden gets his first major league hit for the Toronto Blue Jays against Zach Eflin of the Baltimore Orioles on Opening Day at the SkyDome.

Vinny Capra
March 27 – 2018 shortstop Vinny Capra celebrates his first Opening Day with a home run for the Milwaukee Brewers at Yankee Stadium.
March 29 – The Seattle Mariners signed 2019 and 2021 C’s righthander Nick Fraze to a minor league deal after being released by the Toronto Blue Jays the day before. The Dallas native posted ERAs of 2.12 and 2.14 in his two years with Vancouver.
March 30 – 2018 outfielder Griffin Conine marks his father Jeff Conine‘s induction into the Miami Marlins Hall of Fame with a home run.
March 30 – The Sacramento Athletics claim 2015 lefthander Angel Perdomo off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels.
April
April 1 – 2022-2023 lefthander Mason Fluharty makes his major league debut against the Washington Nationals at SkyDome, wearing number 68. He was called up from Triple-A Buffalo March 30.
April 3 – The Chicago White Sox sign 2016 outfielder Josh Palacios to a minor-league deal.
April 4 – The Seattle Mariners designate 2021 righthander Hagen Danner for assignment after claiming him from the Toronto Blue Jays on January 8.
A reminder that Opening Night for the Vancouver Canadians is tonight at Tri-City for the start of a three-game series, followed by a six-game set in Spokane beginning Tuesday.
Monty’s Mounties are back for their home opener on Tuesday, April 15 when the Eugene Emeralds are in town. Game time at Nat Bailey Stadium is 7:05 p.m.
