Canadians Game Day begins its 10th season on TSN 1040 in Vancouver.
Talking about baseball is what I love to do and I got the opportunity to do just that Thursday night on TSN 1040. Vancouver Canadians play-by-play broadcaster Rob Fai invited me to the TSN 1040 studio to talk about the Blue Jays, the C’s and all things baseball for Vancouver Canadians Game Day which is now into its 10th season.
Lou Filippo and Steven van Vooght joined Rob and I for a roundtable where we covered a number of topics such as Facebook broadcasting MLB games, advanced baseball statistics such as launch angle and exit velocity and Ryan Braun‘s 1,000 hit milestone. Other than forgetting to turn on my mic for the very first segment and losing my train of thought talking about commercial breaks between innings, I think I provided decent middle relief in my debut outing. You can give it a listen right here.
My thanks again to Rob Fai for inviting me on the program. You can follow him on Twitter @RobFaiNation and listen in to his program weeknights from 10:00-12:00. Also check out Lou Fillipo @SoLouSays and Steven van Vooght @StevenvanVooght.

By the way, the whole press box is in agreement: Samad Taylor drew a walk in the 4th inning on Ball 3.
Hey, a walk’s a walk.

Some observations on C’s 2016 righthander reliever Zach Jackson.
You didn’t ask, but my thoughts, needs some improvement on his control but looks like a solid late innings guy in the making
— Clint (@_ClintB_) April 19, 2018
Will always have some degree of control issues due to his delivery but curve is legit and had solid fb that can hit 94 with movement. Probably looks faster coming out of his delivery

Sean Reid-Foley retired the first 16 hitters he faced tonight, and is making that transition from thrower to pitcher. Lots of weak contact tonight.

Watching Ryan Borucki’s start last night against Pawtucket. Borucki pitched as he usually does….gets ahead of hitters, shows a three-pitch mix, gets a lot of gb contact.
— Future Blue Jays (@FutureBlueJays) April 11, 2018
With his 3/4 delivery, Borucki is tough on lefties, who hit .194 against him at 3 levels last yearl
— Future Blue Jays (@FutureBlueJays) April 11, 2018
Borucki hit 94 with his FB, but it’s his mix of pitches and sequencing that gets hitters out. He gives up contact, but with that ability to get GBs, he can get out of trouble quickly.
