Plans have been unveiled for the proposed expansion project at Nat Bailey Stadium.

C's Recap

DailyHive.com says the ballpark at 4601 Ontario Street will see a new indoor facility built along the right field side where the current BBQ picnic area is. The building will host player locker rooms. pitching and batting tunnels as well as coaching and training rooms. A new barbecue area will be situated on top of the building.

The tab for the expansion project is expected to come in at $20 million but it has not been determined how the cost will be covered. The improvements to the stadium are being made to meet the stadium guidelines imposed by Major League Baseball which took over the operations of Minor League Baseball in 2021.

One immediate change fans will notice is a new temporary clubhouse for the Canadians outside the third base side of the stadium. Steve Ewen of The Province provides the photographic evidence.

Another change to the stadium features the presence of 2023 Northwest League championship banners inside the concourse and outside (see headline picture above).
